Orchids

While my personal interest centers on Paphiopedilum, Vandas, Cymbidium & Laelia anceps (both species & hybrids), I also offer an extensive range of Cattleya & Dendrobiums, as well as a few other 'odds and ends'.  My inventory is very broad, but shallow, so I cannot support a 'shop' on the web site.  I will post updated price lists from time to time; please download PDFs to see what is currently available, but be aware that some items will sell out quickly as often I have only 1-3 pcs of each.
I normally ship via USPS Priority Mail; most smaller plants can ship for $12-15, with additional plants adding $3-5 each.                                    I have heat packs available if necessary (add $3.50 ea).
As I complete/update price lists, they will be posted below; when you click on a price list, you will download the PDF.  To place an order, please send a mail to fairorchids@aol.com, and text me at 973-495-4863 to let me know that you have done this.  Payment can be via check (at posted price) or CC/Paypal (+4% to cover fees charged by providers).

Pots, Net Pots, Wire Hangers & Fertilizer

I buy these items in bulk to keep the costs down.  However, I do not sell these items individually, unless it is a substantial order.  Please click on the header to upload the price list.  NOTE:  Many of these items are imported from Asia.  With the fluctuating tarifs imposed by the White House, prices might change with little notice.

As mentioned above, Laelia anceps (species & hybrids) are one of my passions.  Here are photos of some of the better ones I have acquired; the top row are all original divisions, while the bottom row are mericlones.  Divisions are released from time to time; currently (June 2025) I have divisions available of both 'Celtic Queen' and 'Paloma Blanca' (a true alba with only green in the throat), as well as 'Pastel Fragrant' on which I earned a CCM/AOS some years ago.  On the hybrid side I have divisions available of both Coastal Sunrise and Izumi Sunset.

Unbloomed seedlings of Lc. Miss Wonderful (C. Mari's Song x L. anceps) are also available, both NBS & BS.  The flowers in this grex are highly variable and very good, the AOS has awarded more than 20 different plants, incl. one AQ to SBOE.  There are many photos available on the internet.

It is Laelia anceps season.  I have single lead, blooming size divisions with a single spike available of:

  1. Laelia anceps 'Celtic Queen' (from SBOE, photo above) . . . . . . .   $65.00

  2. Laelia anceps 'Fair Orchids' (photo above) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .   $125.00

  3. Laelia anceps 'Fragrant Pastel' (CCM/AOS at right) . . . . . . . . . . .   $65.00

  4. Laelia Summit 'Purple Rain' (no photo) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  $75.00

  5. Lc. Coastal Sunrise 'Tropico' HCC/AOS (photo above) . . . . . . . .    $65.00

  6. Lc. Newberry Glow 'SVO' AM/AOS (at right) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .   $125.00

  7. Ryc. Izumi Sunset 'Day Dream' BM/JOGA, HCC/AOS (above)  . .  $85.00

1, 2, 3 & 6 are original divisions.  Nos. 4 & 7 are divisions from meristems;    I am not certain of No. 5, but I believe that it is an original division.

Some Special Selections (not for sale)

One of the advantages to having a small nursery, and travelling to orchid shows, is the opportunities to select plants with exceptional flowers.

When I come across interesting seedlings, I usually buy 4-10 plants, and then select the one(s) I wish to keep when they bloom.  In the first group photo below, Nos. 2 & 4 were in-house selections; the other 4 were selected at shows or during visits to other nurseries.  No. 4 is included for its unique parentage (C. G. Roebling [1895] x Horace), making it genetically 50% coerulea.  This plant should be able to breed vastly improved coerulea flowers when paired with a coerulea partner.

In January 2025 I attended the World Slipper Conference in Hawaii.  One of my ulterior motives was to visit the nurseries I do business with on the Big Island.

At Hilo Orchid Farm (aka 'HOF') I selected 6 Paphiopedilum hybrids, all 'complex' or 'bulldog' types.  The photos shown here were taken after they had been packed and shipped to New Jersey, so the flowers are not exactly pristine; once they re-bloom, I will have to update the photos in the second group.

Nos. 2, 3, 4 & 6 are very good quality.  No. 5 will never get an AOS award, but the flower is enormous, so I couldn't pass it by.
